Subtitle Synchronization

If the subtitles are for hearing impaired, you will have to include 'hi' in the message as well.

Movie

In Overseerr/Jellyseerr, navigate to the movie thats subtitles need to be synchronized and:

  1. Report an issue of type Subtitle

  2. In the message field, enter the language mapped keyword followed by a sync keyword and submit the issue

Example: Eng subtitles are out of sync, de sync, dansk subs are messed up

Once the process is finished, you will be notified with a message like: English subtitles have been synchronized.

Series & Anime

The process of synchronizing subtitles for series followes similar steps with the difference being the choice for affected season and episode.

Synchronizing Specific Episode

  1. Report an issue of type Subtitle

  2. Select the affected season and episode

  3. In the message field, enter the language mapped keyword followed by a sync keyword and submit the issue

Synchronizing Whole Season

  • Report an issue of type Subtitle

  • Select ONLY the affected season

  • In the message field, enter the language mapped keyword followed by a sync keyword and submit the issue

Advanced Synchronization Options

Manual Adjustment

In the case where the subtitles are still off by a couple of seconds or maybe a minute, you can send a request to Bazarr with exactly how they should be synchronized by structuring your message the following way:

  • adjust by s/ms/m/min

Examples: en adjust by 2 min, en adjust by -20 ms, en adjust by 5 s

Offset

In the case where you want to specify the offset, you can use include the offset keyword in your message, followed by a number to specify the subtitle offset.

Example: en offset 120

If the subtitles are for 4K media, you will have to include '4K' in the message as well.

Keep in mind that synching 4K takes longer on average due to the size of the files.
